At over 70 minutes, Matter of Life and Death is closer to 1988's woefully underrated Seventh Son of a Seventh Son than it is to Piece of Mind, but with far less keyboard tickling
This album, like many others from the MaidEn, has produced several amazing phEnomEnons such as The Pilgrim or Different World. Another hit of a band that seems to be an Endless pit of sEnsation and that will never cease to amaze its audiEnce. Although I already knew this famous band and famliliare whith their works, I was simply blown away whEn they played These Colours Don't Run Live. Every aspect of this album is outstanding. Powerful guitar ruffs accompanied by amazing solos make it a beauty to all guitarits, and a loud bass gives it a pure metal vibe.
Iron Maiden’s fourteenth album, and third as a six-piece, released in 2006. It wound up as an unintentional concept album, with most lyrics dealing with war, religion and life’s difficulties. All songs are over 4 minutes long, and only opener Different World is below the 5 minute mark. Bruce Dickinson called this album one of Maiden’s best albums in an interview. I think this is one of the finest Maiden albums we’ve ever done. I’m really proud of it. I think, sound-wise, it’s probably the best album we’ve ever recorded. Obviously I’m a huge fan of Martin Birch and his work with us, bu. ou.
Iron Maiden's musical experimentation began to walk with the return of Bruce and Adrian on 2000's Brave New World album. Finally with Dance of Death, the sound began showing the fruits of its labour, conceiving arguably the band's greatest masterpiece, Paschendale, and successfully transforming that walk to a jog/light run. Finally, in 2006, Iron Maiden takes the momentum drawn from their last couple albums & tours and upgrades their jog to a wild sprint. Frontman Bruce Dickinson has a very strong showing on A Matter of Life and Death. Bruce's wails may not be at the same level as they were 23 years ago, but Bruce can still let it loose with the best of them, as he proves during the chorus of Iron Maiden's latest war epic, The Longest Day. Another instance where he impresses is in the 9:23 epic titled For the Greater Good of God.
