Fantastic is the debut studio album by British pop duo Wham! released on 9 July 1983. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. It included the previously released singles "Young Guns", "Wham! Club Tropicana" was also released as a single, as was "Club Fantastic Megamix". this album was originally released as the group "WHAM! . due to a conflict with a . group with the same name (Columbia BFC-38911).

Fantastic is the misguided 1983 debut release from the . With Fantastic, George Michael and partner Andrew Ridgeley introduced themselves as leather jacket-clad, street-smart "rebels. Label: Inner Vision ‎– IVL 25328. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album. The first and IMHO the very best album of Wham! Pity that their succeeding albums were not funky anymore (aimed at a bigger audience maybe? I never heard them say that it was their intent to break with the funky sound, but they did and my interest in Wham was over, bought Fantastic though and the 12" of Wham rap). 1983 debut album Fantastic addressed the United Kingdom's unemployment problem and teen angst over adulthood. Wham! Andrew Ridgeley (left) and George Michael (right), 1984. Background information. The next single from the Wham album was "Careless Whisper", but it featured only George Michael in the music video. The single was also promoted as "Wham featuring George Michael" in many markets but, unlike any Wham single except "Wham Rap!" and "Club Tropicana", it was also co-written with Andrew Ridgeley.

Recording Fantastic was great – although I’d worked in studios before, this was a new experience for us all and so exciting. George particularly had driving passion and ambition – and, of course, the songs were brilliant. I knew they were going to be huge. Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do?) was released as Wham!’s debut single in June 1982. With a number-one album, a string of Top 10 singles and a sold-out UK tour behind them, Wham! fought – and won – their battle to release themselves from Innervision. The cessation of legal wranglings finally granted them the freedom to begin work on their sophomore record, Make It Big. And make it big, they did.
