Noise Mass is a revised and updated version of his 1994 album Hole and marks a period in the early ’90s (around the time of classic albums Venereology and Pulse Demon) during which Akita was focused on developing Merzbow from a studio project into a more performative undertaking. The album will be released alongside a 28-page book charting the development of Merzbow from 1979 to the present day, featuring exclusive photos and a career-spanning interview with Akita

the textures are great and well put together. the Bastard Noise sound definitely comes through. it's not strictly noise, not strictly drone and not strictly ambient. it's the place where those meet. you could call it power electronics but it has it's quiet moments. the standout track for me is number eight. end to the album and seems to bring the whole thing together.

Noise Floor is the Beard’s thirteenth studio album, the third with Ted Leonard on lead vocals, and the eleventh with the mighty Nick D’Virgilio on drums. The line-up changes of this band are now the stuff of legend, with the various departures of Neal Morse, D’Virgilio (guesting on this album) and Jimmy Keegan, all having failed to disrupt what is a seemingly unstoppable machine. The historical core members, Alan Morse, Dave Meros and Ryo Okumoto, have appeared on every album (bar Ryo on the first), and they still combine to create the multi-faceted, unique sound that no other band seems able.
