Prince – Prince In Rehearsal. This release has been blocked from sale in the marketplace.
The rehearsal features Prince, just playing piano, working through songs such as 17 Days, Purple Rain, Strange Relationship and the gospel spiritual, Mary Don’t You Weep. It’s an amazing intimate look into a genius at work, with songs that we all know stripped down to their raw elements. Man if we got this, the Warner album and the Tidal album within a year's time. It'd also make sense for the estate to test the water with those three releases to see what the market wants and what it can bear.

Bruno Mars released rehearsal footage leading up to his tribute of Prince at the 59th Grammy Awards in February. In February, the Versace on the Floor singer helped the Grammys crowd commemorate Prince with a rousing rendition of some of the icon’s greatest hits. Mars channeled Prince’s style as well, performing in a sparkly, purple suit and white blouse.
We know Prince was a master of many genres, but this video shows how beautifully versatile he was - playing Gershwin during soundcheck and guiding his band through the chords. The multifaceted singer-songwriter was known for skipping merrily through a whole variety of genres, sometimes in a single song, but this intimate (for a stadium) soundcheck shows that he knew his way around a Gershwin number too.
